Metropolitana di Torino, Linea 2
By connecting the northern and southern parts of the city and passing through its historic center, the route of Turin Metro Line 2 traces an urban and cultural path that, alongside its transport function, offers a rich and multifaceted narrative of the city.
We therefore conceived a visual identity capable of meeting the needs to inform, guide, support, and communicate, by seamlessly integrating an interpretation of the territory and neighborhoods, where each station expresses its unique characteristics in dialogue with the urban and cultural fabric that defines it. More than just a means of transportation, Line 2 is thus conceived as a new vehicle for discovery, exhibition, encounter, and sharing for a city that aspires to become the European Capital of Culture in 2033.
The visual identity of Line 2 thus embraces the full diversity that makes up the city of Turin, appealing to all users, citizens and tourists alike. The rich palette of colors, along with the city’s heritage, artistic, landscape, and social characteristics, as well as its museums and events, feed into an iconographic and semantic vocabulary deeply rooted in the city’s identity.
This diversity is clearly evident from the very design of the M2 logo, and it then comes to life, takes on different forms, and spreads into the collective imagination, eventually taking shape within the stations and becoming an identity.
By adapting to each context through the city’s notable landmarks, the customization of each station allows passengers to more clearly identify departure and arrival points, build a mental map of Line 2, become familiar with the city of Turin, and perceive its soul and vitality more intensely.
