National monuments center

The design approach developed involves structuring the visual identity of the Centre des monuments nationaux around the silhouettes of each of the monuments managed by the Center. All of these icons are then arranged in a grid pattern, with the name of each monument linked to its corresponding icon. Depending on the subject of the communication, the relevant icon is enlarged to highlight it. As if through a process of deepening or bringing closer, the anonymous and imprecise silhouette on a small scale becomes more refined; details emerge and enrich the design and its perception. On a small scale, the collection of silhouettes and captions forms a graphic “surface” that can be duplicated and repeated to identify the documents. This graphic surface is paired with a “typogram.” The number of silhouettes accompanying the typogram varies depending on the format and the emphasis placed on the visual identity within the medium.
