Typographic installation: From One Bank to the Other, Simone de
Beauvoir footbridge, Paris

This typographic and linguistic installation was created to mark the passage of the Paralympic Flame on August 28, 2024, across the Simone de Beauvoir footbridge—the crossing point between Paris’s 12th and 13th arrondissements. This work pays tribute to the writer and her struggles through quotes translated into the languages spoken in the 182 countries participating in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Contrary to any nationalist vision, these flags celebrate multilingualism as a universal symbol of shared values. We warmly thank the many people involved in translating these quotes for their time and dedication.
