Ruedi Baur, designer, enseignant, chercheur, citoyen d’un « Monde à changer ».
Depuis les années 80, Ruedi Baur pense son activité de designer dans le contexte d’un espace civique à transformer. Travaillant dans un premier temps comme graphiste pour de nombreuses institutions culturelles, il organise dès les années 90 un enseignement transdisciplinaire basé sur une recherche critique de la culture du design nourrie par les expériences pratiques développées dans ses ateliers.
Revendiquant très tôt un design interdisciplinaire, il créé dès 1989 le réseau Intégral et dirige jusqu’en 2023, les ateliers : Intégral Ruedi Baur, Paris, Zurich et Berlin puis Intégral designers. En 2004, il créé et dirige, avec la sociologue Vera Baur, l’institut Design2context à la ZHdK de Zuric. En 2011, il créé et dirige l’Institut de recherche critique en design Civic city puis, en 2018, la jeune entreprise universitaire dix—milliards—humains.

Since the 1980s, Ruedi Baur has thought of his activity as a designer in the context of a civic space to be transformed. Initially working as a graphic designer for many cultural institutions, he organized transdisciplinary teaching in the 1990s based on critical research into the culture of design nourished by the practical experiences developed in his workshops.
Claiming an interdisciplinary design very early on, he created the Integral network in 1989 and ran the workshops until 2023: Integral Ruedi Baur, Paris, Zurich and Berlin, then Integral designers. In 2004 he created and directed with the sociologist Vera Baur at the ZHdK in Zurich the Design2context institute, then in 2011 the Institute for critical research in design Civic city; in 2018, the dix—milliards—humains university start-up.
